Pade’s Excavations was founded by Ian Pade, whose passion for great service earned the business a trusted reputation among builders, plumbers, councils, and landowners throughout the region. For over 25 years, we have supported a diverse range of projects, always bringing the same energy and commitment to every job. Today, based in Coffs Harbour and servicing the Mid North Coast, we continue to build on this legacy, combining decades of hands-on experience with modern equipment and innovative solutions to meet the demands of both small and large-scale civil works.
Today, Pade’s Excavations is led by Richard Macmillan. Richard brings an impressive background in civil projects, logistics, IT, and vegetation management, and holds an Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering, a contractor’s licence (Underpinning and Piling, Excavation), and a supervisor’s licence.
Since taking over the business in 2019, Richard has kept key staff on board, ensuring continuity of experience and a culture focused on delivering great outcomes for every client. With Richard at the helm, you can trust that your project will be managed by a knowledgeable, licensed professional who values safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Our commitment to Work Health and Safety (WHS) means every job is approached with careful planning and risk management.
All crew members hold current Industry White Cards, machine-specific competencies, and heavy vehicle licences. Our qualifications in underpinning, piling, civil engineering, and forestry tree cutting ensure your project is handled by certified professionals.
We conduct site-specific risk assessments and follow strict SWMS and WHS guidelines, so you can be confident your project is safe and compliant.
We are insured for $20 million in public liability, with up-to-date Work Cover certification and all credentials available on request.
